Svenja Kaftan joined Kümmerlein in 2024 and works in the field of public business law. She advises private industries and the public sector on administrative and constitutional legal issues, especially planning and environmental law.
Svenja Kaftan studied law at the Ruhr-University in Bochum. Prior to her first state examination, she completed the German-French Bachelor’s program in national and European business law at the Ruhr-University Bochum and the Université de Tours, which she completed with the French licence en droit and the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.). In addition to her studies, she worked at the Chair of Public Law, in particular European Law, Public International Law and International Business Law of Prof. Dr. Adelheid Puttler, LL.M. and at the Chair of Public Law, Philosophy of Law and Economics of Law of Prof. Dr. Stefan Magen. During her legal clerkship in Dortmund, she worked at the German Bundestag in Berlin and the European Commission in Brussels.
